About
Dr. Michael H. Robinson

Dr. Michael H. Robinson’s distinguished career, spanning over 30 years, is characterized by his unwavering dedication to promoting equity and fostering unity among stakeholders. He has served in various roles across public and private educational settings, including Special Education Teacher, Head Basketball Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, Executive Director of School Turnaround, and Superintendent of Schools.
A proud two-time graduate of the University of the District of Columbia, Dr. Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. He furthered his education by earning an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Jacksonville State University and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.
As the Superintendent of Schools for the Stewart County School District (SCSD), Dr. Robinson collaborates effectively with the Board of Education and the leadership team to develop and implement a strategic plan centered on student achievement and teacher quality. His leadership has led to significant improvements in SCSD’s College and Career Readiness Performance Index scores, including record-high graduation rates sustained in the 90th percentile for two consecutive years and double-digit gains in English Language Arts and Reading on the 2024 Georgia Milestone Assessment System. His commitment to expanding student opportunities has also resulted in an increase in the number of students successfully completing dual enrollment certification programs.
Dr. Robinson’s leadership was equally impactful as the inaugural principal of Langston Hughes High School in Fulton County Schools. In this role, he led the community in naming the school and developing a curriculum framework that empowered students to reach their full potential. Additionally, during his tenure as the inaugural principal at Martha Ellen Stilwell School of the Arts (MESSA), the school achieved and maintained a near-perfect graduation rate and an “A” status on the College and Career Ready Performance Index for five consecutive years. These accomplishments were recognized by the Georgia Department of Education, which named MESSA a 2019 Title I Distinguished School and an Advanced Placement (AP) Honors School for five consecutive years. In 2020, MESSA was awarded the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School for Exemplary High Performance by the United States Department of Education, a testament to Dr. Robinson’s visionary leadership.
Beyond his roles in education, Dr. Robinson is an active member of the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders, the Georgia School Board Association, the Georgia School Superintendent Association, and AASA, The School Superintendents Association. He also serves as an executive leadership coach for newly hired school and district leaders. Dr. Robinson continues to strengthen his personal and professional endeavors, remaining fully committed to his calling as an educator and leader.
